Photovoltaic systems for own consumption

Own consumption – The term "own consumption" means the electricity produced by the photovoltaic system is consumed directly at the place of production and carries a number of advantages:

Efficiency: Losses from transmission and conversion are minimal because electricity is consumed at the place of production.

Independence: Investing in a photovoltaic system for our own consumption makes us less dependent on steadily rising electricity prices. If we add battery storage to the photovoltaic system, we can provide autonomous power - even in the event of a power grid failure. Autonomous photovoltaic systems are an indispensable source of power to places where there is no established distribution network or when joining it is financially unprofitable.

How do they work?

In the case of own consumption systems, the energy produced is used primarily to cover the consumption of the consumers included in the internal network. In the event of surplus energy, the surplus is transmitted to the network of the electricity distribution company, which buys it under a preferential tariff set by DKEVR. Conversely - if the electricity produced is not sufficient to cover current consumption, the difference is complemented by the electricity distribution network. There is a statutory 20-year term for the purchase of the produced energy.
